COURSE DESCRIPTION:

There is no question that substance misuse has a negative impact on society. Relationships with family, friends, and co-workers suffer, and the ability to function physically and mentally is reduced. The capability to work safely and efficiently is highly questionable when an employee works under the influence of illegal substances or alcohol. This training program is designed to inform and educate employees about the relationship between substance misuse and safety in the workplace. In this presentation, we will discuss substance misuse facts, including a review of depressants, stimulants, and hallucinogens. In addition, we will discuss the signs, symptoms, and consequences of substance misuse on job performance. We will provide best practices for employers regarding workplace substance misuse policies and employee assistance programs, or EAPs.
